Respondents now share images with Yasna 

Respondents can now upload images to enrich their answers.

August 2025 – Yasna.ai, a platform for conversational research, has introduced a new feature: Image Attachments. Respondents can now upload images directly in chat as part of their answers, giving researchers richer data to work with. Images enrich text and voice responses, adding detail, nuance, and bringing respondents’ answers to life.

This feature is available to all users on the PRO plan and can be activated in the agent settings. Powered by computer vision, Yasna is able not only to receive and store the images but also to interpret them — describing the uploaded visuals in detail and integrating them into summaries and reports. Beyond description, Yasna can follow up with tailored questions, probing deeper into the context of the images to uncover richer insights.

Use Cases for Image Attachments

Image uploads open up new possibilities across a wide range of research projects, including:

— Ethnographic Research: Photos of daily routines, homes, or cultural practices give a deeper view of consumer lifestyles.

— Expressive Responses: Visuals capture emotions, moods, and brand associations that words alone can’t.

— In-the-Moment Context: Snapshots of surroundings or current mood reveal authentic, real-time insights.

— Feedback for In-Home Usages Testing: Images show how products are stored, used, or displayed in real-life settings.

— In-Store Research: Point-of-sale moments, or purchase journey images enrich understanding of consumer behavior.

— UX/UI Feedback: Screenshots highlight usability issues or design strengths in digital products.

— Trendspotting: Respondents can share their own style, home decor and lifestyle images as well as capture the styles they like.

— Advertising & Branding: Photos of ads, billboards, logos. The respondents can be specifically asked to search for ads or logos they like and explain why.

— Experiences & Journeys: Event snapshots.

Flexible Use in Research Projects

Researchers can invite participants to upload images in response to any question. Depending on the setup, providing an image can be optional or required:

— Optional uploads: If respondents choose not to upload an image, Yasna acknowledges their choice and smoothly continues to the next question.

— Required uploads: Yasna will encourage participants to provide the requested image and validate whether it matches the task. If not, respondents are asked to try again.

Media Mode for Review

With Media Mode, researchers get more than just a gallery of uploaded images. They can expect:

— Centralized access — all visuals are stored in one place under the Interviews tab, while also appearing in transcripts and reports.

— Automated interpretation — Yasna uses computer vision to describe images in detail and highlight key elements.

— Contextual probing — Yasna can follow up with tailored questions to uncover the meaning behind visuals and their connection to the study topic.

—Media analysis — recurring themes, visual patterns, and associations are identified across respondents.

— Actionable insights — images are not just collected, but integrated into summaries and reports, enriching findings with visual evidence.

This way, researchers gain not only raw materials but also structured insights, making image-based contributions as valuable and analyzable as text responses.

Next Steps: Video Uploads

Over the coming month, Yasna will expand this functionality to include video uploads, further broadening the possibilities for expressive and multimodal research.

Data Protection

As with all Yasna.ai features, data security and privacy remain a top priority. Images are stored securely on Microsoft Azure servers in the EU, and are accessible only within your projects.
